3rd-5th Cool Chemistry *Option 1*

Chemistry is used all around us. Doctors use chemistry to make medicine that helps us when we are sick. Engineers use chemistry to make electronics like your TV and your cell phone. Farmers use chemistry to help their crops to grow so we can have food. Even chefs use chemistry to cook delicious meals. By understanding chemistry you can better understand the world around you and how it works. We will uncover the inner workings of reactions, mixtures, and chemical phenomena through exciting experiments. There will be lots of bubbles, fizzes, bangs, and color changes for you to explore. All materials for this class will be supplied by the instructor. This will be a pass/fail class with points being awarded for class participation. There will be no required homework for this class other than the occasional worksheet not completed during class.
