In this drama class for the older students, we'll be covering fundamental dramatic concepts with lots of focus on improvisation. Classes will be filled with fun games, activities, and lots of laughter! We’ll discuss topics like different genres of plays, vocal projection, behind-the-scenes set-up (like sets, props, lighting, music, costumes, etc), how to utilize the stage and props, how to get into your character, how to improv, how to deal with stage fright, how to memorize lines, and much more. Each lesson will focus on a different topic and will include a lecture & discussion portion followed by multiple games and activities to reinforce the lesson we learned that week. An excellent class for wannabe actors, creative teens with big imaginations, or shy teens who need a confidence boost! Students will walk away knowing more about the basics of drama, feeling more comfortable on stage, and being able to improvise and act better and with confidence! They'll also walk away with improved teamwork skills and creativity. Supplies needed: N/A.
