No one goes through life without having an injury of some kind. This course will teach some of the basic things you can do to help someone who has an injury or illness. Students will learn the definition of First Aid and some basic rights, the process of performing CPR, recognize and know basic first aid treatment for both internal and external emergencies such as shock, hypothermia, dehydration, stroke, seizure, allergic reactions, external wounds, head injuries, burns, broken bones, etc. Students will practice emergency carry methods, build a First Aid Kit, and learn about First Aid and CPR certifications. Grades will be rewarded from homework assignments (estimated one hour worth) as well as in class quizzes and tests. Instructor will also provide additional study resources including printed diagrams, study guides and online practice through a platform such as Kahoot and videos.
