9th-12th American Government (AP / Honors Option)

It's an upcoming election year which makes it a perfect time to take Government. This is a thought provoking class which will cover many aspects of our government and politics. Students will become familiar with the Constitution, Bill of Rights, voting, Congress, the Presidency, Judiciary laws, the whole election process, and more. Students will become acquainted with the origins, concepts, organizations, and policies of the government and politics. The class (in groups) will create their own political parties for an election project first semester and pretend to be Supreme Court justices second semester. There is even a field trip to Washington DC where we visit Congress, the Supreme Court, National Archives, and the White House.
