Many popular television shows center on some form of crime investigation from the crime scene to the arrest of a suspect. This class will follow a similar path by first learning what to look for at a crime scene, what evidence to collect, analyzing that evidence, and reviewing witness statements until determining who should be arrested for the crime. This class will be hands on, with labs, as well as working to critically work through scenarios. In addition, we will dive into real life cases of solved, and unsolved crimes. While this class will be fun, especially for those that are fans of this type of genre, this is a science class and we will be covering many science concepts. (No prerequisite required.). Grading – Participation, homework assignments, labs/lab reports, quizzes and tests. Required materials – None. Teacher provided materials – All lab equipment and supplies, binder with text, additional materials.
