In this high school English class, we will study historical fiction and nonfiction. We can learn so much by reading about historical events in a variety of ways. Students will be able to provide input on various time periods and events we read about. In addition, this class will complement the History through Film class for those who take both. If we are studying the Revolutionary War in History through Film, then this class will read a book set during that time period. Potential books may include – Rebel Spy, Salt to the Sea, Lines of Courage, Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer, and more. Homework – Various assignments to include reading the pieces of literature, writing assignments, reflection questions, projects, etc.
