This high school class would build on more complex topics such as mental health first aid, anxiety, depression and mental health myths vs facts. We will focus a lot on identifying mental health struggles in themselves, but also in the peers and family around them. There will be a lot of discussions about digital well-being and social media. We will discuss how to disagree appropriately and role-play practice scenarios. We will explore values and the importance of emotional resilience. As these high school students are getting older, we hope to equip them with the tools to treat themselves and others with kindness and grace as they move toward adulthood.
